As one of Belgium’s most recognized and trusted cycling destinations, Niels Albert Bikestore has experienced tremendous growth in customer traffic since its opening — especially following a recent store expansion. Known for its premium service and expert advice, the store faced a common retail challenge: how to efficiently manage high customer volumes with diverse needs, from bike repairs and custom orders to accessories, advice, and fittings.

The objective was to streamline in-store customer flow, minimize wait times, and help staff prioritize service without losing the personal touch.

Our Approach

To meet this challenge, we developed and deployed CueHero, a custom-built digital ticketing and queueing solution, tailored specifically to the retail environment at Niels Albert Bikestore.

Here’s how it works:

– Upon entering the store, customers are greeted by a central touchscreen device that prompts them to select the purpose of their visit (repair, purchase, advice, accessories, etc.).

– The system generates a digital or printed queue ticket, linked to their selected service.

– Throughout the store, screens display real-time queue information, guiding clients to the right staff member.

– Once a customer is called, staff simply tap a device to update the live queue, which syncs across all displays — including the customer’s smartphone, for those who prefer to track their status remotely.

The system is powered by iOS devices and managed through a secure web-based interface, giving the client full flexibility and control over the experience. This technology, developed entirely in-house by Xpandity.com, has proven so effective it has also been deployed at Lucien bike shops (D’Ieteren Mobility) in Brussels and Wilrijk.
